English: Reignac-sur-Indre (Indre-et-Loire)
L'église Saint-Étienne avec son clocher du Xème siècle. Grégoire de Tours mentionne une première église fondée par Eustochius, évêque de Tours Ve siècle. Il ne reste rien de cette église primitive. L’édifice actuel, rénové au XIXe siècle a conservé son clocher des IXe-Xe siècles. C'est l’un des plus vieux de Touraine. Les deux arcs de la façade orientale du clocher, l’un en briques, l'autre de pierres plates, marquent l’emplacement de la nef de l'église carolingienne carolingienne du IXe siècle. Cette nef carolingienne était orientée à l'inverse de la nef actuelle. |
