English: After conducting a helicopter flyover of the 22-day-old active Carr Fire and the nearby 4-day-old Hirz Fire on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue was transported to the Hirz Bay Campground for a tour of the ground firefighting efforts, Aug. 13, 2018. Joining him to discuss suppression strategy, Burn-Area Emergency Restoration needs, condition of forests, active management and treatment needs were USDA Forest Service’s Fire Director Shawna Legarza, Fire Management Officer Ben Newburn and Shasta-Trinity National Forest Supervisor Scott Russell.
