Summary

[edit]
Description This is one of a pair of hawks that seemed to be pairing up calling to its mate. Red "shoulders" are visible when the flying. The white bars on the tail feathers are also distinct. These are more likely to be in wooded areas where a Red-tailed hawk is more likely to be in an area where it has less need to maneuver through the trees. Some may confuse the bird with a Red-tailed hawk, but certainly not so if you hear them, as each of their calls is so distinct.
