Garden Trap - 17-10-12 - Stevenage, Hertfordshire Well what a cracking night! on returning from the circus I found not one but two Merveille du Jour's sitting on the trap, a garden first, and in the pouring rain aswell! By this morning I was rewarded with 27 moths of 17 species which is pretty good for my garden at this time of year I would have thought, but being my first year trapping here I won't know until next August if this year is a base to go on. Also new for my garden was 2x Red-line Quaker's and a lovely Dark Chestnut. I have always said that rain does not seem to put moths off at all, it is always wind and temperature, infact some of my best catches have been in the rain. No photos yet as it is just too dark again! but photos of the previous night will be on my previous post.
