Description
English: Lance Cpl. Joseph T. Blake, from Clarkston, Michigan, walks ashore cradling all his gear after a 4,000 meter swim Nov. 18 during a pre-combatant diver course at Camp Schwab. The reconnaissance Marines practiced swimming with fins during the 4,000 meters. This training ensures that if a Marine Expeditionary Unit needs stealthy beach raiding capabilities, the Marines are able to complete the task. Blake is a reconnaissance man with Company A, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Devon Tindle/Released)
