Around the base are soapstone figures,applique. Metal mounting. The cage is suspended by apendant of jade, coral and lapis-lazuli from a tall lacqueredbracket founded upon an elaborately carved teakwoodbase, both base and bracket being Chien-lung productions. Height, 22% inches; diameter, I414 inches.Height of bracket, 8 feet.(Illustrated) 196^AxTiQUE Chinese Brown Lacquer Birdcage (Chien-lung)Dome-shape. The numerous appurtenances and decorationsof carved ivory are elaborately executed, in openwork, inrelief and in the round.
