Description
English: Rana Sierrae Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog

Location: Sixth Lake (near the North Fork Big Pine Creek Trail, CA, USA)
Identification: The identification that it was Rana Sierrae as opposed to Rana Muscosa was based primarily on the fact that it was found north of the Monarch Divide. See A STATUS REVIEW OF THE MOUNTAIN YELLOW-LEGGED FROG (Rana sierrae and Rana muscosa) November 28, 2011. Also based on images from this site: http://www.californiaherps.com/frogs/pages/r.sierrae.html, its appearance seems to be more like that of Rana Sierrae than Rana Muscosa

Additional information: We were told by a hiker that the fish had been killed off in Sixth Lake and the lake had been planted with frogs. I wasn't able to confirm that story with an internet search but it seems likely to be true.
