English: Rakhal Rani(Rakhal Chandra Das) , a prominent and powerful actor who possessed the rare proficiency in female role and became capable to enchant lakhs of people of integrated Bengal for more than three decades.Rakhal Chandra Das, was popularly known as "Rakhal Rani" (Graceful Lady) due to his appearance in female character.His tremendous skill in acting,dancing and singing with feminine gestures and voice etc. came through an extreme and rigorous endeavor.Rakhal Chandra Das was abducted a number of times as beautiful lady by a class of persons out of the wrong notion that he was really a beautiful actress and they used to be disillusioned by actually undressing him. It is quite impossible to express it through writing or drawing the pose, accent and projection of voice what he achieved to create the emotion He could make illusion creating impassioned scene by means of outstanding voice like an adroit singer.His aim was clear and distinct in both the parts of dramatic structure and narration.Rakahl Rani had his own entity over make-up as well as the related materials with respect to the characters. He could properly use and express the excellence which proved his own depth and vastness. Rakhal Rani's beautiful voice ,his simple but creative nature in acting established himself to be an uncommon actor.Rakhal Chandra Das had to do very hard work. To conceal one's own being and to act as another is not an easy task.This is no doubt a great art and deserves recognition. Between the age of seven and fourtythree, Rakhal Rani was associated with Jatra and played about in 200 palas, mainly in the Natta Company. Rest of his life Rakhalbabu passed struggling for existence upright till death on 30 November,1984.The Government of West Bengal performed their duty by offering a felicitation to him in the year, 1973.The male actors used to perform female roles, whose contribution to Jatra is immense,who by their dedication with sincere and graceful acting once fulfilled the void in the world of Jatra had to face immense poverty when they left the Opera welcoming the actresses in their places.The most famous author Brojendra Kumar Dey,the Headmaster of North Land High School at Ichapur of North 24 Parganas rehabilitated Rakhalbabu by offering a post of Peon in his School. There too Rakhal Chandra Das overcame the mind of the teachers and students by his exceptional dutiful,painstaking and well behavioral nature. Till his lat breathe,Rakhalbabu was not heard to blame anybody.He was ever content and ever shoulder in the battle field of life.
