[edit]DescriptionRailway Fields Entrance - 1.jpg |
English: 21 October 2013. Entrance to Railway Fields Nature Reserve, 381 Green Lanes N4
From the Conservation Volunteers website. "Railway Fields Nature Reserve is The Conservation Volunteers' first Green Hub in London and a focal point for our London activities. In partnership with Haringey Council, local businesses and communities we develop the site to make it the fantastic green space that it is. We are well used by local residents, walkers, families, school groups and people who just want to have some lunch away from the hustle and bustle." "Railway Fields Nature Reserve is in the heart of Haringey, North London, where it offers a piece of tranquillity away from busy Green Lanes. This former disused railway goods yard now boasts a Green Flag award for environmental quality. Lush vegetation blocks out noise from surrounding streets, and 21 kinds of butterfly have been recorded as well as more than 60 species of birds." "Railway Fields offers a safe and fun place to explore and get in touch with the natural world. It is a firm favourite with local children." "So what are you waiting for? Come on down and see what we are about." ________________________________ § Aerial view of where I took these photos. § Haringey Council's webpage for Railway Fields. |
