Summary
[edit]DescriptionRailhead Treatment Train, Coryton, Cardiff (30924591622).jpg |
English: DB Cargo class 66 locomotive 66107 stands at the end of the Coryton branch with the 1850 Margam TC-Margam TC railhead treatment train working. Another, unidentified class 66 locomotive is at the other end of the train.
Having travelled to Cardiff via the Vale of Glamorgan line, and then north to Coryton, the train will now return to Heath Junction where the Coryton branch joins the Rhymney Valley line, before again heading north to Pontlottyn - not far south of Rhymney. From there it will head back to Cardiff, and the via Pencoed and Bridgend to Maesteg, arriving back in Margam just before 1am. The tanks which are used to blast water at high pressure on to the rails can be seen sandwiched between the locomotives. Judging by the trees at Coryton there are still plenty of leaves to deal with. |
