العربية: مقياس إشعاع، من طراز كروكس، وهو يُعرف أيضًا باسم الطاحونة الضوئيَّة أو المُحرِّك الشمسي، وهو عبارة عن قارورة زُجاجيَّة مُحكمة مُفرغة جُزئيًّا من الهواء. وتُوجد بداخلها أربعة زعانف مُثبتة على محور في شكل الطاحونة. وعند سقوط ضوء على الطاحونة فإنها تدور بسرعة تتناسب مع شدة الضوء. وقد شكَّل سبب الدوران موضع جدالٍ كبيرٍ بين العُلماء.

Deutsch: Eine Lichtmühle (auch als Lichtrad oder Radiometer bezeichnet) ist eine auf 5 Pa teil-evakuierte Glaskugel, in deren Innerem sich ein bewegliches Flügelrad befindet, das mit mehreren einseitig geschwärzten Plättchen versehen ist. Bei Lichteinfall beginnt sich das Rad zu drehen. Die meist dekorativen Zwecken dienende Apparatur wurde 1873 von William Crookes erfunden.
