Italiano: Maschera Ntomo - Maschera facciale antropozoomorfa con volto di forma ellissoidale sormontato da una testa di antilope e quattro corna. La linea verticale del collo dell'animale si prolunga lungo il setto nasale del volto sottostante dividendo la maschera in due metà simmetriche. Occhi rotondi forati, orecchie laterali sporgenti, incisioni sul volto e sulle corna dell'antilope.

Queste maschere sono utilizzate nell'ambito della società Ntomo che rappresenta il primo gradino (quello dei ragazzi non ancora circoncisi) del percorso iniziatico bamana strutturato per classi d'età. La maschera ntomo è l'immagine dell'uomo così come è uscito dalle mani di Dio.

Elemento centrale sono le corna il cui numero indica il sesso della maschera: maschile se le corna sono tre o sei, femminile se sono quattro od otto, oppure androgina quando sono due, cinque o sette. Gli insegnamenti del Ntomo riguardano soprattutto il controllo della parola e l'importanza del silenzio (Zahan 1960) anche nella sopportazione del dolore.
