Description
Deutsch: Der achteckige Taufstein im nationalen Kulturdenkmal Marienkirche Reutlingen wurde 1499 von Martin Schmidt im Stil der Spätgotik erschaffen. In der dreiteiligen Gliederung stehen zuoberst acht Apostel unter Baldachinen. Gegen den Uhrzeigersinn sind erkennbar: Petrus, Paulus, Johannes und Andreas. In den acht Nischen sind die Taufe Christi und die sieben Sakramente dargestellt: die Taufe Christi, das Sakrament der Taufe und das Sakrament der Firmung sind auf dem Foto sichtbar. Unterhalb der Nischen sind jeweils liegende Tierfiguren zwischen den Sockeln, auf denen die Apostel stehen, ausgeführt.
