Description
English: Pictured (in the background) is HMS Severn conducting fishery protection operations off the coast of Britain, the Trawler Golden Sceptre is in the foreground.

HMS Severn is the second River-class vessel. She is one of the trio of Offshore Patrol Vessels ploughing the seas around the UK almost every day of the year. 

The 3 River class Offshore Patrol Vessels patrol the seas around the UK, routinely operating hundreds of miles off the UK coast. 

Their primary role is to deliver maritime security, encompassing fishery protection and Marine Management tasks on behalf of the Marine Management Organisation, as well as a wide range of operations to ensure the security, integrity, and safety of UK waters.

Image was part of the Royal Navy Photographic Competition 2017 (Peregrine Trophy awards). Class 6 - Global Operations - Winner PO Osmond.
