RNLB Dorothy and Philip Constant (ON-967) lifeboat. The lifeboat is now called Pettlandssker and she is used for sight seeing pleasure trips to the Pentland Skerries, a group of four uninhabited islands lying in the Pentland Firth, northeast of Duncansby Head and three miles south of South Ronaldsay. The islands are home to over 500 breeding pairs of Puffins, which can be seen between April and July each year. There are also Terns, Gannets, Bonxies, Fulmars, Kittiwake, Razorbills, Guillemots, Shags and Cormorants. |
