Summary
[edit]DescriptionQueen's Quay scrapyard, Belfast - geograph.org.uk - 1201165.jpg |
English: Queen's Quay scrapyard, Belfast Before the redevelopment of Queen’s Quay 796779 the scrap quays extended as far as the Queen Elizabeth Bridge 587541. As can be seen, the equipment used in maintaining the pile often encroached onto the public road. The red crane (bottom right) has an electro magnet used in placing scrap on the pile. This needs skill to ensure that the pile is properly positioned for loading on the ship and to avoid a collapse of the material. 4466237 shows a similar view 26 years later. |
