Summary
[edit]DescriptionQueen's Bridge Road, Nottingham - geograph.org.uk - 1577890.jpg |
English: Queen's Bridge Road, Nottingham This is the rear of Midland, a furniture sales showroom. Seems they may have an artistic salesperson.
The cut to the left is the Tinker's Leen, which is a former channel of the River Leen that now serves as an overflow from the Nottingham Canal. Some of the finest willow grew alongside and this was a key industry in Nottingham up until WWII. Queen Victoria came to Nottingham for her baskets and the bridge and road is named after her. The photograph was taken from the stairs of the adjoining multi-storey car park. |
