Size: miniature, 4 x 2.5 x 2 cm
Pyromorphite
WOW! To my mind, the most beautiful and desirable Pyromorphites have come out of Les Farges, and this is no exception. The specimen has great aesthetics: wonderful hoppered crystals and overall form, superb luster, and the deep green color that Les Farges is MOST famous for. The lustre actually LOOKS wet, as if oiled (but it is not!). It is nearly pristine though there are admittedly a few very trivial broken crystals around the periphery. Specimens with this top-percentile color beat anything new out of China or Bunker Hill, hands down. However, they are extremely rare on the market! This is a killer miniature for somebody who wants the best quality from one of the most important historic green pyro localities. I know this collector regarded the piece as one of his prizes, and I fully agree. 4 x 2.5 x 2 cm
