Summary
[edit]DescriptionPygmies of the Ituri Forest.jpg |
English: These people (Bambuti) lived in the Ituri forest and rarely made an appearance outside of its protection. Here they had crossed from Congo into Semuliki (Uganda) perhaps on their way to visit Fort Portal,
They were an unusual sight even then, but reports say that subsequent bloodshed wreaked by Hutus and Tutsi has nearly wiped them out. Ironically, the Tutsi are amongst the tallest people in the world, but live almost next door. (Scanned from old 35mm slide) |
