Summary
[edit]DescriptionPulpit Rock in silhouette - geograph.org.uk - 1099835.jpg |
English: Pulpit Rock in silhouette. The mid-winter afternoon sun is behind the upper part of Pulpit Rock. The puddly horizontal platform in the foreground is a Jurassic sea-floor, exposed by stone quarrying at the Bill Quarries. The upper part of the rock is of Portland Freestone - the type that was once quarried here. The person on the summit is sitting atop the thin basal Purbeck Caps. |
