| Description |
English: Provost Skene's House The original building dates from 1545 and it was a chance remark by the late Queen Mother that saved it from the fate of so many other buildings nearby. The Duke of Cumberland set up his HQ here prior to Culloden. Now run by the Council as a museum it has a very fine 17th century painted gallery. Each floor is furnished in the styles of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries |
