Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Use of stereographic projection in crystallography. Points on the north side of the sphere are projected via the point S (south pole) and are represented by a cross. Points on the south side of the sphere are projected via the point N (north pole) and are represented by a circle. Thus, the crystallographic stereographic projection maps a sphere onto its equatorial disc.
