Dans l'hindouisme, Ganesh (souvent appelé Ganapati dans le sud de l'Inde) est le dieu de la sagesse, de l'intelligence, de l'éducation et de la prudence. Il est le fils de Shiva et de Pârvatî. Il est traditionnellement représenté avec un corps humain et une tête d'éléphant à une seule défense. // Ici, des femmes portent sur leur tête le " kumbam " (pot en cuivre) orné de feuilles de manguiers et de noix de coco.
English: Every year since 1996, Hindu immigrants from India and Sri Lanka have gathered on a September afternoon in the streets of the northern 10th arrondissement and the eastern 18th arrondissement to celebrate the god Ganesh. The "Ratha Yatra", a chariot festival, is one of the most popular festivals in India and Sri Lanka. In Hinduism, Ganesh (often called Ganapati in southern India) is the god of wisdom, intelligence, education and prudence. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He is traditionally depicted with a human body and an elephant's head with a single tusk. // Here, women carry on their heads the "kumbam" (copper pot) decorated with mango leaves and coconuts.
