South to Riverside County,Calif.; Yuma County, Ariz.; (?Magdalena, Sonora?); Dona AnaCounty, N. Mex. East to Dona Ana County, N. Mex.; San Juan andSalt Lake Counties, Utah; Yellowstone Coimty, Mont. North toYellowstone County, Mont.; Canyon County, Idaho; Washoe County,Nev. Zonal range: Lower Austral to Transition. Altitudinal range:189 feet below sea level in Riverside County, Calif., to 4,045 feet inMariposa County, Calif. Only 16 specimens are known to bepreserved in museimis. Underparts with hairs whitetipped, the white incompletely concealing the black bases. Membranespale grayish brown, auricles and tragi yellomsh brown. Measurements: See tables 7, 13. Remarks: USNM 269842, not reported previously, was captured9 miles east of Roll, Yuma County, Ariz., on 5 August 1940, and wassubmitted to the National Museum by Mrs. W. A. Jones, Box 3, Roll,Ariz. It is an adult, probably a male, mummified, with the skullstill inside the skin. In Mrs. Jones words, the details of its capturewere as follows: Dear Sirs.
