Summary
[edit]DescriptionPriory Park in the snow - geograph.org.uk - 1656154.jpg |
English: Priory Park in the snow Whenever it snows in Riegate, the lower slopes of Park Hill in Priory Park are a magnet for tobogganists. They are particulalry popular with families with young children due to their gentle slopes with a long run-off (more challenging runs are also available, culminating in the well named Breakneck Hill, running from the top of Park Hill down towards the Priory Pond). Usually with the meagre snowfall that is normally experienced, the slopes rapidly become worn, but here the 6 inches or so of snow of a few days previously has lasted well, helped by the slopes being north facing and sheltered by trees and also temperatures remaining low, and the crowds are out in force. |
