Description
English: HMS Albion had the privilege of hosting her sponsor, HRH Princes Anne, as she visited the ship while it participated in Exercise Joint Warrior 21 off the coast of North West Scotland. Princess Anne, who launched HMS Albion in Barrow 2001, spent 24 hours onboard the UK’s High Readiness Amphibious Assault Ship meeting members of the Ship’s Company. Arriving on a Chinook helicopter from 27 Squadron Royal Air Force, she experienced the ships’ amphibious capability firsthand.Exercise Joint Warrior, the largest military exercise in Europe, which brings together the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force and the British Army, as well as forces from our NATO Allies and partners. From the Bridge, the Princess Royal witnessed HMS Albion operating in the exercise, before presenting a number of Long Service and Good Conduct awards.
