Description
English: The Genius of Architecture (1862) by William Brodie in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh. This statue shows a crowned woman with two male kilted children at her feet. One shows plans for approval whilst the other kneels to apply mortar to a pillar. It represents the crowning of the theory and practice of Art.
Nederlands: Het genie van de architectuur (1862) door William Brodie in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh. Het beeld toont een gekroonde vrouw met twee jongens in kilt aan haar voeten. Eén jongen toont plannen ter goedkeuring, terwijl de andere mortel op een zuil aanbrengt. Het stelt de kroning van de theorie en de beoefening van de Kunst voor.
