Description
English: This photo depicts one of the beautiful, well-renowned, and colourfully painted preserved Peranakan houses along Katong, Joo Chiat area in Singapore. These Peranakan houses have been conserved by Singapore for their authenticity, beauty, nostalgia, and rich history and culture that have accumulated over the years!

The Peranakans had colorful houses and furniture back then during the olden days as they believed the vibrancy would bring wealth, prosperity, and longevity to the family.

Taken on a film camera, this photo helps to give off a more retro feel and vibe to the visual of the photo overall, the graininess and rough look of the photo helps to portray this iconic cultural tourist attraction spot in Katong, Joo Chiat area in a different light.
