Description

Situada no curso da Ribeira de Loriga, que nasce no planalto superior da serra da Estrela, a praia fluvial de Loriga distingue-se por ser a única praia portuguesa situada num vale glaciário e pelas suas águas puras e cristalinas, muito procuradas e apreciadas por banhistas e cuja qualidade tem sido atestada pela atribuição do galardão de ouro, uma menção atribuída pela Quercus – Associação Nacional de Conservação da Natureza. Esta praia foi também umas das finalistas das “7 Maravilhas – Praias de Portugal”, na categoria de Praias Fluviais.

O relevo acidentado e o valor ambiental da paisagem envolvente determinam uma elevada aptidão para a prática de atividades de aventura, desportos de natureza ou pedestrianismo.

Como a própria Praia, também os socalcos e a sua complexa rede de irrigação, uma obra construída ao longo de centenas de anos e que transformou um vale rochoso num vale fértil, são um verdadeiro ex-libris, uma obra que ainda hoje marca a paisagem, fazendo parte do património histórico da vila de Loriga. <a href="http://www.cm-seia.pt/index.php/praias-fluviais/loriga" rel="nofollow">www.cm-seia.pt/index.php/praias-fluviais/loriga</a>
