Title
Postmedieval coin: Sixpence of William III
Description
English: A postmedieval silver hammered coin. The coin is a sixpence of Willam III (1694 - 1702). The coin is dated 1697. Spink numbers 3528 - 3547 (2011 edition). The sixpence has been bent slightly twice, giving it a very slight 'S' shaped profile. Coins bent in this way are thought to have been given as 'love tokens'.
