Post medieval shoe buckle, drilled for separate spindle
Description
English: Post medieval buckle; cast copper alloy sub-rectangular shoe buckle, drilled for separate spindle. This buckle dates from the late 17th or early 18th centuries, c.1690-1720. The buckle has a slightly curved, oval-rectangular frame which thickens in the centre of each side, where it is drilled to hold the separate spindle. Chape, spindle and pin missing.

Length 22.5mm, width 18.9mm, thickness 3.9mm, weight 3.26g
