Title
Post Medieval Buckle
Description
English: Incomplete post-medieval tin coated copper alloy double-looped buckle frame. The extant loop is trapezoidal, as the missing one probably was. There is a small lobe at the ends of the bar, and larger rounded lobes at the junctions of the sides and the triangular edge and in the centre of the edge. Lines of punched dots decorate the sides and the edge including the lobes. The form resembles that of Whitehead 2003, nos. 521-4 but with the addition of the central lobe. Estimated length (with the assumption that the object is symmetrical) 47mm. Width 27.5mm. c.1620 - c.1680.
