Description
English: This is a post medieval oval buckle with a stud chape. The style is typical of Marshall's type V buckle from the 17th - 18th centuries. These small buckles were used on shoes and for fastening knee breeches.

The buckle pin is now broken but the buckle itself is in very good condition for its age. The buckle appears to be in white metal, whilst the chape is in copper alloy mounted on an iron pin.
