Post Meddieval shoe buckle
Description
English: A postmedieval copper alloy shoe buckle. The buckle has a rectangular frame with a drilled hole to take a seperate spindle. The frame is C-shaped in section section, and was probaby intended as a shoe buckle. The chape remains intact attached to the central spindle. The chape is type III (Whitehead 1996, p96). The buckle is similar to one illustrated in Whitehead (1996) number 661, page 103. The buckle probably dates between c. AD 1690 - 1720.
