Post-medieval bodkin
Description
English: Post-medieval silver bodkin or headdress pin. Rectangular-sectioned with a pierced circular terminal and rectangular slot at the upper end, tapering smoothly to the rounded point. There is no trace of any decoration or marks. Length 140mm. Maximum width 5mm. Thickness 2mm. Weight 5.9g. Many bodkins of similar form, usually decorated, have been recorded including NMS-032A66, BH-536345, SUR-365184 and NARC-029CF5. Circa 17th century.
