Title
Post-medieval : Toy Pistol
Description
English: An incomplete cast lead petronel style toy pistol of post-medieval date. All that remains is roughly half of the slightly flared stock and a small portion of the circular barrel. The stock is decorated with a raised oval panel with circumferential pellets and an indistinct central design below which is an area of ribbing.

Guns of this type were based on the match-lock 'petronels' of the 16th and 17th centuries, and were fully working models.

The metal has a dark greyish-brown patina and is worn. The toy is 55.2mm long, 14.3mm wide, 1.4mm thick and weighs 16.9g.
