Title
Post-Medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of post-Medieval date.

A central axis bar with protruding knops separates the two sides of the frame, one of which is 'D-shaped', the other being trapezoidal. The upper surfaces of the frame are flat and the edges are sloped. The surfaces have been tinned or silvered.

Dimensions: 28.4mm long, 21.2mm wide, 2mm thick. Weight: 3.18g.

A similar buckle is illustrated by Ross Whitehead, who suggests a late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century date (1996: 91, no. 564).
