Description
English: An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy pendant (fob) seal matrix (c. 1700-c. 1800).

This seal matrix is in the form of a lion rampant guardant left standing on a flat pedestal. Its forelegs formed a loop which is incomplete due to two breaks. The pedestal is shield-shaped and the underside bears a motif in the form of a sprig of foliage. The pendant may have been used as a fob seal.

This object has a brown surface with traces of gilding.

Height: 19.3mm; width: 13.8mm; thickness; 7.9mm. Weight: 1.86g.
