Title
Post-Medieval Buckle
Description
English: Copper alloy buckle. Cast sub-rectangular frame of rounded section with a curved outer edge and a slightly narrowed strap bar set back from the frame. A chip of rust adheres to the latter, so the object was probably deposited with an iron pin attached [now lost]. The outer edge bears a groove serving as pin rest. The robust construction may suggest a use with horse harness. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.

Length: 35mm, Height: 28.9mm, Thickness (frame): 4.0mm, Weight: 11.58gms
