English: Possible fragment from a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of unknown type. What remains is the spring, which consists of a cast copper alloy axis bar which is sub-oval in section. Directly underneath the main axis bar is a shorter copper bar, which was possibly used as a wedge to make the axis bar and the spring fit tighter together. The spring is formed from a strip of cast copper alloy, approximately 2mm in dimaeter being coiled both bars. Two complate turns still remain. The length of the object along the axis bar is 16.5mm, the width of the spring is 9.7mm, and the weight is 2.29g.
