Summary
[edit]DescriptionPortway and Caesar's Belt - geograph.org.uk - 490853.jpg |
English: Portway and Caesar's Belt The track receding into the distance is the Portway, a Roman road that ran from London to Weymouth via Silchester, Salisbury (Old Sarum) and Dorchester. The woodland on the right is known - presumably because of its proximity to the Portway - as Caesar's Belt. A field of oats is starting to turn gold on the left. |
