Description
English: Album folio. Portrait of Safdar Jang with moustache and fur hat, standing man + inscription. Ink, opaque watercolour and gold on paper. This painting belongs to an album containing portraits of Indian rulers alternated with poetic verses calligraphed in Persian. Abu'l Mansur Khan Safdar Jang was the nawab of Awadh and the Prime Vizier of the Mughal Empire from 1737-53.
