Description
Deutsch: 2005 modellierte der Bildhauer Wolfgang Eckert den Literaturkritiker Marcel Reich-Ranicki in dessen Wohnung. Bei der abgebildeten Porträtplastik handelt es sich um eine in Gips gegossene und farblich gestaltete Plastik. Die Aufnahme entstand im Atelier des Künstlers, in dessen Besitz sich die Plastik befindet. Eine weitere Version, die der Künstler Marcel-Reich-Ranicki als Leihgabe überließ, befindet sich in Schottland, bei den Nachkommen Ranickis. Einen Bronzeguss hiervon erwarb die Stadt Frankfurt am Main 2018.
English: In 2005 the sculptor Wolfgang Eckert modelled the literary critic Marcel Reich-Ranicki in his apartment. The portrait sculpture depicted is a sculpture cast in plaster and decorated in colour. The photograph was taken in the studio of the artist who owns the sculpture. Another version on loan from the artist Marcel-Reich-Ranicki can be found in Scotland, among the descendants of Ranicki. Another version, cast in bronze, was acquired by the city of Frankfurt am Main.
