| Description |
English: Port Askaig Lifeboat. The photograph was taken shortly after a visit to the boat by the Duke of Kent. Its area covers part of the west coast exposed to the worst of the Atlantic weather as the numerous wrecks testify, indeed one, the "Wyre Majestic", is still visible from the lifeboat station. Feolin, the ferry terminal on Jura, can be seen in the background across the Sound of Islay. |
