[edit]DescriptionPontsarn Viaduct - geograph.org.uk - 307522.jpg |
English: Pontsarn Viaduct The first train travelled over Pontsarn Viaduct in August 1868. In 1873 the local rector recorded 21 trains a day crossing the viaduct. The viaduct is 455 feet long and 92 feet high. It has seven arches. The railway brought lime stone from the quarries to the many furnaces in Dowlais. The railway line now carries the route of the Taf Trail footpath and cycle way from Cardiff to Brecon. |
