English: "Napoleon Bridge" that spans a canalised section of Middle River Deûle in Lille, near the Vauban Citadel. Photo taken a few days after the end of the 2014-2015 restoration) and installation of new lighting (January 2015). This lighting is "energy saving". It is also designed not to dazzle people and contribute as little as possible to light pollution: the lights are white LEDs integrated in the central ramp, and yellow LEDs illuminate architectural elements. Lighting is still standing (without presence detector). The wavelength is chosen to have a minimal effect on moths and therefore bats, and the position of the lamps is designed so that the light is not directed towards the river crossed by the bridge (the Mid-Deûle) in order not to interfere with the rings nyctéméraux plankton or fish.. |
