Валентин Павлович Паутов (1941, Усть-Усан — 2010, Переславль) — кандидат технических наук, директор Переславского филиала ГосНИИхимфотопроект (1988—1997), заместитель генерального директора ОАО «Компания Славич» по экологии и промышленной безопасности (1997—2001), директор ООО «Экослав» (2002—2010), член-корреспондент Академии инженерных наук имени А. М. Прохорова. Депутат Переславского городского совета (1990—1994), депутат городской Думы 1 созыва (1994—1996), второй секретарь Переславского райкома КПРФ и член бюро Ярославского обкома КПРФ. Награждён медалью «За спасение погибавших» за участие в ликвидации последствий аварии на Чернобыльской АЭС. Почётный химик Российской федерации.
