| Description |
I am at Place d'Alma in Paris. This is my first-ever visit to Paris, a city I had dreamed of visiting since early childhood. On August 31st, 1997, Princess Diana's Mercedes-Benz, fleeing from paparazzi, crashed into the 13th pillar at this tunnel. Her injuries turned out to be fatal. In her memory, someone re-named this plaza as "Place Diana." Sure enough, the crash scars are still visible on the 13th pillar. The "People's Princess," one of the few in the British royal family who was likable, will certainly be missed. |
