English: Flintlock holster horse pistol, 1776-1840 French style trade pistol; large flintlock; .660 inch calibre; very long smoothbore brass barrel; with wooden ramrod; brass fittings; possibly made from military parts; engraved trigger guard; silver oval escutcheon on top of butt- picture of (griffin) over initials- HJO; woodwork partially cleaned-scrubbed, patina has come away markings- on right hand lock- ‘Lacy’ (name of shop in London) Birmingham proof and view marks on left rear of barrel top rear of barrel- LONDON under barrel, obscured by stock- (crown) - IF manufacturer Lacy and Co , London, (1776-1840) Previously described as a "flintlock duelling pistol"
