Notes |
Luger Model P.08-14 centrefire semi-automatic pistol and magazine, WW1 One of a pair obtained by donor from Mr Bert McCulloch who claimed he got them from two German officers who were menacing him during WW1. Bert McCulloch This was possibly 17-128 Sergeant Robert McCulloch, NZ Veterinary Corps, of Te Kuiti. Alternatively it might refer to 11507 Bert McCullough, Auckland Infantry, 12th Reinforcements, whose mother lived at Ranfurly Rd Epsom, or 13-2220 Bertie Everlie McCullough, Auckland Mounted Rifles, who worked for Henderson and Pollard at the time of his enlistment in 1915, and who died in 1923 of wounds received during the war. |
